COORDINATOR FOR INTRAMURAL SPORTS AND CAMPS
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Sport and Camp Programs, the Coordinator for Intramural Sports and Camps is responsible for training of sport programs officials and general management of all intramural activities. The coordinator is involved in managing operations of Tiger’s Den which include camper registration, inventory, and other operational matters.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE
Manage day-to-day operations for intramural sports Supervise and train sport programs officials and sport facility attendants. Provide front-line support and advocacy to all participants within intramural sports. Serve as a liaison between students and UREC administration, including recommendations for new intramural sports.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEADERSHIP
Optimize Sport Programs Officials trainings Intramural Sports provide an environment in which students learn and develop skills important to them as leaders in and out of the collegiate recreation environment. The Coordinator will build on existing trainings, to determine and implement intentional strategies based on industry standards. As a result, they will better empower sport programs officials to successfully complete their responsibilities and develop their leadership skills. Advance Tiger’s Den Curriculum The Coordinator will have a direct role in the day-to-day management of the camp program. High quality and well-developed camp curriculum are what makes a difference in any camp experience, even more so when working with children. Through research and continued development, the Coordinator will build on current curriculum to create educational and fun experiences that have a positive impact on participants

Understanding of importance to effectively maintain professional relationships with students Demonstrate effective approaches to working with students of different age groups (i.e., collegiate students vs youth camp students) Ability to create trainings that educate students on the rules and procedures of intramural sports and facilitate leadership skill development (i.e., critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork) Desire to be an advocate for the student experience while also supporting institutional and divisional priorities and initiatives Committed to high quality outputs and while doing so maintains attention to detail Able to anticipate the needs of others and understands how to ground decisions in LSU and collegiate recreation standards Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment where responsibilities are consistent, but the challenges faced are ever-changing Experience in recruiting, hiring and training student staff, with a particular commitment to training staff to provide excellent customer service.
ABOUT THE DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS PRIORITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Student Support (40%) Advise students individually on intramural sports needs, providing front-line advocacy and support. Conveys department initiatives, values, and goals to students through interactions at programs, services, events, and experiences. Serves as the liaison between intramural participants and leadership in UREC. Responsible for recruitment, direct supervision, training, and development of sport programs officials. Administrative Support (25%) Responsible for day-to-day administrative management of operations for intramural sports and Tiger’s Den camps. Creates connections with LSU partners to collaboratively achieve program goals. Assist with oversight of camp registration process and development of camp curriculum. Provide feedback regarding programs and experiences by utilizing UREC. Contributes to the work environment by developing and maintaining positive relationships that support a culture of teamwork and cooperation. Program Support (20%) Coordinates logistics and is responsible for intramural sports and camp related programs and services within University Recreation. Oversees expenditures for one or more events, experiences, or services within intramural sports and camps. Quality Control (10%) Ensures every aspect of intramural sports and operations of camps outputs including administrative tasks, implementation, and overall design exudes a high degree of quality. Oversees program assessment efforts and makes recommendations for improvements. Embraces and executes a commitment to improve the level of all services, events, programs, and experiences in department for continuous improvement every academic year. Other Duties as Assigned (5%) Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Assistant Director of Sport and Camp Programs. This includes but is not limited to efforts that support broad division/institution efforts including at least 40 hours per year spent helping divisional initiatives such as Move-In Day, Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Career Expo, Disability Services Finals Testing, other special projects etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree with related experience. LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply— a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in Sport Management, Parks and Recreation, Kinesiology, Higher Education, Business, Public Administration. 3 years professional work experience with Intramurals and 2 years of working experience in youth programs as well as experience in the development and execution of developmentally appropriate youth curriculum.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/EXPECTATIONS
Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours. We support, when appropriate, the ability to have a flexible work schedule. Ability to lift to 50 lbs. overhead. Due to the position’s physical requirements, a pre-employment physical examination will be required per
