Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing enriching activities for seniors and individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by organizing and facilitating engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being. This position requires a strong commitment to caregiving and a passion for working within the community. Responsibilities Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational and therapeutic activities for residents. Engage residents in various activities, ensuring participation and enjoyment. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to understand individual needs and preferences. Support residents with daily living activities as needed, fostering independence while providing assistance. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants during activities. Document participation and progress of residents in activity programs. Collaborate with the care team to integrate activity plans into individual care plans. Skills Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Experience or knowledge in home community care or senior care settings is highly desirable. Ability to assist individuals with disabilities and provide compassionate caregiving. Proficient in schedule management to coordinate activities efficiently. Familiarity with long-term care environments and memory care practices is an asset. Background in social work or related fields is beneficial but not required. A positive attitude, patience, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others are essential traits for success in this role.
