General Summary The Fitness Attendant works primarily at one center to help coordinate, conduct programs, and inspect equipment. The individual must monitor the use of equipment, make decisions based on established policies and procedures, ability to demonstrate proper use of the fitness equipment, complete paperwork, and perform administrative work. There is frequent interaction with staff and the general public, including people of all ages and abilities. Requirements and Job Specifications Education required:
High School diploma or equivalent; Skills, Work Experience, Qualifications Knowledge of fitness equipment; knowledge of wellness and fitness programs; strong interpersonal skills, ability to instruct, direct and relate with the public in a positive manner; basic math skills; basic computer skills; background in Kinesiology or Exercise Science desired. Certification(s)

 Valid ID Functions and Duties This is a routine program position, reporting to the Recreation Manger.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Welcoming members to the fitness center with assurance and membership sign-in process and;
Promoting fitness center activities and maintaining positive public relations;
Completion of daily maintenance checklist with constant attention to maintenance service, upkeep and sanitation of fitness equipment and facilities;
Administering operation of the center according to fitness center established policies and procedures;
Representing BREC fitness center in a helpful, knowledgeable, and willing manner.
