RiverWoods Manchester is currently hiring for aFitness Coordinator to come and join our Fitness Team The primaryrole of the Fitness Coordinator is developing and managing fitnessand wellness programs for the residents and Staff of RiverWoodsManchester. This is a Full Time position at 32 hours per week.

Within established company and departmental policies andprocedures, the RiverWoods Manchester Fitness Coordinator performsthe following functions:

Responsibilities:

Teaches group fitnessclasses for residents (Independent Living [IL] and Assisted Living[AL]) and staff to improve strength, flexibility, cardiovascularconditioning, or general fitness of participants such as but notlimited to, Strength and Balance, Yoga, Zumba®, Zumba Gold®,Aerobics, Stretching, Functional Training, etc Contributes to anactive, healthy culture for all RiverWoods residents by workingwithin the inter-disciplinary team and providing feedback relatedto their physical well-being. Develop marketing campaigns topromote a healthy lifestyle and participation in fitness andwellness programs. Demonstrate proper operation of fitnessequipment, such as resistance machines, cardio machines, freeweights, weight machines, exercise bicycles, benches, hand weights,and fitness assessment devices. Recommend new program or serviceofferings to promote wellness and fitness that may produce revenuesor minimize costs. Provides quality customer service with apositive attitude and commitment to safe and effective performanceof various kinds of physical exercise. Supports all aspects of theRiverWoods Manchester community. Research off-site fitness optionsensuring a diversity of offerings. Track attendance, participation,or performance data related to wellness events. Conducts periodicneeds assessments or surveys to determine interest in, orsatisfaction with, wellness and fitness programs, events, orservices. Collaborates with Social Event Coordinators (IL and AL)to plan fitness programs such as an organized walk, Kayaking trip,hike, etc. Teams up with Dining Program to promote nutritiousdining options for residents. Manage and oversee fitness equipment;ensuring safety and cleanliness. Maintain and arrange formaintenance/repair of equipment or facilities.

Personal TrainingQualifications:
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science,Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field of study, orcommensurate experience. 2 – 5 years working with the seniorpopulation. Fitness certification can include ACE, AFAA, other.

Ability to communicate complex training principles in a clear andconcise manner.

Preferred:

Master’s degree in Exercise Science,Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field of study, orcommensurate experience. 5 years of experience working with thesenior population. Experience working in an Independent Living andAssisted Living environment.

FAI, NSCA, NASM

certification. FirstAid, CPR certified. Experience planning, coordinating, and leadingOutdoor Adventure opportunities. Opportunities can include kayaktrips, hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, etc. RiverWoodsis committed to providing the highest level of service and care toour residents and team members.
