We offer accessible, affordable access to kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, sailing , and winter sports like cross-country skiing and ice skating. We’re passionate about getting people outside-and we’re looking for experienced and enthusiastic Supervisors to help lead our paddling and rental operations this season! Position Overview As an Outdoor Recreation Supervisor , you’ll be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of our kayak, canoe, paddleboard, and sailboat rental centers , supporting staff and customers, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable paddling experience for all. Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day operations at our paddling and boat rental facilities Assist customers with kayak, canoe, paddleboard, and sailboat rentals at the desk and on the dock Oversee and support seasonal staff during daily shifts Maintain equipment and ensure all paddling gear is clean, safe, and ready for use Provide excellent customer service to individuals, families, and tour groups Lead or assist with paddling lessons, kayak instruction , and group tours (training available) Ensure safety procedures are followed during all water-based activities Qualifications Some experience kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding , or sailing Experience supervising staff or managing operations in an outdoor, customer-facing environment Excellent communication and leadership skills Passion for outdoor recreation and paddlesports CPR and Basic First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Weekend and holiday availability required, especially during peak season (including September and October weekends) Preferred Qualifications Prior work experience in outdoor recreation, adventure tourism, or paddlesport instruction Teaching, coaching, or guiding experience (especially with paddling or youth programs) Multilingual skills a plus Familiarity with Boston-area waterways a bonus Benefits Competitive pay: $20•22/hr , depending on experience Seasonal and year-round opportunities Year-end bonus potential Health insurancepaid time off for qualifying employees Retirement and disability plans Access to free and discounted paddling and recreation activities Supportive, inclusive, outdoor-focused work culture Join Our Team!
