We offer various employment opportunities for people who are passionate about the outdoors and want to share that passion with others. We provide affordable, accessible sailing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, cross country skiing and ice skating in the Boston area. Charles River Recreation offers a relaxed outdoor work environment with competitive pay and benefits. Full and part time opportunities are available. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Supervise the day-to-day operation of the canoe, kayak, sailing and paddleboard rental center Support water activities, including assisting in the rental process at the desk and on the dock, preparing equipment for lessons and tours, and ensuring operational rental equipment. Possibility to teach paddle lessons in kayaks, canoes, sailboats or paddleboards and lead groups based on skill and experience. Training may be provided. Provide excellent customer service to our diverse clientele and work independently with shifts that may not overlap with the Manager.

Requirements:

Excitement for outdoor summer recreation. Experience in sailing, paddling kayaks, paddleboards, or canoes is highly desirable. Strong background in customer service. Experience in staff management Previous employment in the outdoor industry and current CPR and basic First Aid certification is highly desirable. Teaching or coaching sports experience is highly desirable, with additional experience working with children as a plus. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Multilingual skills are desirable but not required. Must be willing to work on weekends and holidays. Availability on weekends in September and October is required.

Starting Pay:

$18-22/hour plus potential for year-end bonus; benefits include health insurance, paid vacation time, retirement and disability plans, and employee and industry discounts.
