Camp Director Job Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, and reliable Summer Camp Counselors to join our team! As a counselor, you will play a key role in providing a fun, safe, and engaging camp experience for children ages 5-12. You will lead activities, go on fun field trips, ensure camper safety, and build positive relationships with campers, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and actively engage with a group of campers throughout the camp day. Plan and lead activities including sports, arts and crafts, games, and other recreational programming. Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful camp environment. Ensure camper safety and well-being at all times. Assist campers with daily needs, including transitions between activities and snack/lunch times. Communicate effectively with campers, families, and co-workers. Assist with set-up and clean-up of camp spaces. Serve as a role model, demonstrating patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. Follow all camp policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety. Attend staff meetings and participate in camp training.

Qualifications:

Minimum age: 16 years (or as required by local law). Prior experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreation setting preferred. Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Ability to be outdoors and participate in physical activities for extended periods.

Work Schedule:

Seasonal, typically Monday-Friday, approximately 8am-6pm. Additional hours for staff meetings, trainings, and special events as needed.

Compensation:

Assistant Counselor (no prior camp experience): start at $17.00/hour Camp Counselor (has camp experience): start at $18.00/hour Additional benefits may include camp meals, staff t-shirts, and training.
