Duties and Responsibilities:
This is paraprofessional work to provide care and support for adolescents receiving mental health treatment in a residential setting. The incumbent will provide supervision and assist residents with performance of daily activities including but not limited to hygiene, physical care, laundry, housekeeping, education, and development of social skills; document resident behavior and progress towards goals; direct and participate in recreational and social activities for residents; accompany residents to activities and programs on and off campus; and model appropriate behavior and communication at all times.
Special Qualifications:
The applicant should possess the ability to develop, direct, and participate in therapeutic recreational activities to include recreation, physical fitness, and creative arts. This position in the Residential Living department and is primarily assigned to Recreation department.
Education and Experience:
Support Care Professional II – High School Diploma or high school equivalency, and 1-2 years of experience.
Support Care Professional III – 30 hours of successful college credits provided on a transcript and 2-3 years of experience.
