Full Job Description Position Description Pay Grade:
Coordinator 3 This position supports the Assistant Director Student Activities for Events and Operations in planning, implementation, and evaluation of co-curricular and extracurricular programs. In addition, the position will support the intercollegiate and intramural Esports program consistent with institutional and affiliated governing bodies requirements (i.e. National Junior College Athletic Associations Esports (NJCAAE), or other) to ensure a quality Esports program. Responsibilities and Duties (•Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. In support of the Assistant Director Student Activities, assists with implementing programming that complements and supplements institutional goals and strategic initiatives Provides operational and logistics support of signature Student Activities for on-campus, off-campus, and virtual events, workshops, and programming including supporting promotion and soliciting attendance to appropriate stakeholders Responsible for organizing, promoting, and executing select events each academic year in coordination with the Assistant Director Manages the Wake Tech mascot program, Talon, including scheduling of the mascot and general logistical support to ensure mascot is present and prepared as scheduled Supports student Esports initiatives on campus to include intramurals and student LAN tournaments and provides administrative support to the NJCAAE Tier 1 and Tier 2 programs Promotes the program through social media, video streaming, and other platforms to increase visibility of the program in consultation with Marketing & Communications office Provides mascot training to student actors and handlers, including faculty and staff as needed, to ensure that Talon complies with mascot appearance best practices including actor health and safety. Trains, supervises, evaluates, and develops assigned mascot student workers consistent with the needs, policies, and procedures of the college Assists in the supervision of student government leaders during office hours and during activities or events for which they have volunteered to work Provides back up to the Assistant Director Student Activities Assists in collecting required documents for purchase orders and other business service requirements to host events Occasional travel in state and/or out of state to conferences and events, as needed Serves as a programming consultant to the Assistant Director Student Activities Serves as a liaison with the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) Coordinates with college Information Technology Services (ITS) department on any technical support for computers and peripherals Provides input and maintenance of Esports facility, selection of equipment, and program budget Performs outreach initiates to increase awareness for the campus and community
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to travel between all Wake Tech campuses and centers and community sites to coordinate events Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential Demonstrated excellent customer service skills Demonstrated critical thinking skills to resolve issues with limited oversight Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others Ability to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently and confidentially as appropriate. Demonstrates good organizational skills Demonstrated event planning skills Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of intercollegiate Esports and best practices
Requirements:
Associate’s degree Experience in student activities and/or co-curricular programming
