Bedford Hills Position:
Recreation Assistant (30 Hours/Week) Bedford Hills is excited to announce that we are now under new ownership and are seeking a compassionate and energetic Recreation Assistant to join our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:
Activity Planning:
Develop and organize recreational and therapeutic activities that cater to the interests and abilities of our residents.
Activity Facilitation:
Lead and assist residents in various activities, including games, arts and crafts, music sessions, exercise classes, and social events.
Resident Engagement:
Encourage resident participation and provide support to ensure they are actively involved and enjoying the activities.
Program Evaluation:
Assess the effectiveness of recreational programs and gather feedback from residents and staff to make improvements.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity outcomes.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other healthcare team members to integrate recreational activities into residents’ overall care plans.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a recreational or activity-related role, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach. Ability to plan and execute engaging activities that meet the diverse needs and interests of residents. Creative and enthusiastic with a positive attitude. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or coursework in recreation or therapeutic activities is a plus. Availability to work every other weekend (required).
