Concord Parks and Recreation is looking for staff for 2025 SummerDay Camp. Work hours are typically 7:30 am to 5 pm Monday – Fridaysfor 40 hours a week. JOB SUMMARY
Applicants must be dependable, enjoy working with children,creative and have good communication and problem solving skills.
All applicants must have standard First Aid, AED and Infant & Childand Adult CPR. Prior experience working with children is required.
Specialized skills in the following areas: special events, arts andcrafts, sports, games and working with school aged youth.
Applicants must be age 17 or over. All applicants 18 and over arerequired to pass a Criminal Background Check. Examples of Duties Works under the general supervision of the RecreationSupervisor and Camp Supervisor. Responsible for the supervision, safety and accident preventionof all camp participants and be a positive role model to campers.
Strives to establish positive public relations for the RecreationDepartment and the City of Concord. Camp Counselor’s are required to adhere to all guidelinesoutlined in the Camp Counselor’s Handbook. Required to wearapproved city uniform while on duty. Administers First Aid and CPRwhen necessary Responsible for daily planning and implementation of the daycamp program. Responsible for the organization and maintenance of the campfacility, supplies and equipment. Also, distribution of campcalendars and parent release forms for field trips. Counselors are required to take daily attendance, completeaccident and incident reports when necessary and inform theirsupervisor of any issues or concerns that may require immediateattention. Responsible for carrying out departmental disciplineprocedures, insuring that class registration procedures arefollowed and that supplies and equipment are readily available Acts as a liaison between the Parks & Recreation Department,campers and parents. Supervises Counselor in Training (CIT) participants, andfosters an environment whereby CIT’s can learn the necessary skillsto become a caring and responsible Camp Counselor. May be required to lift items that weigh more than 25 lbs. Other responsibilities as required. Supplemental Information Must attend in-service training in early June and staffmeetings.
WORK HOURS
Available Monday – Friday, 7:30a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
