The Activity Aide plays a key role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning, organizing, and leading engaging recreational, social, and therapeutic activities in a warm and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and implementing daily, weekly, and monthly activity programs Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities Lead or assist with games, music, arts & crafts, exercise, religious services, and special events Escort residents to and from activity areas when needed Help decorate and set up for programs, holidays, and special occasions Develop positive relationships with residents and help promote emotional well-being Maintain accurate attendance records and documentation of resident participation Adapt activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of residents Work collaboratively with nursing, social work, and therapy departments Monitor resident safety during activities and report any concerns to appropriate staff
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in a healthcare, senior living, or recreational setting preferred Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in working with the elderly Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team CPR/First Aid certification (preferred) Must be able to lift, push, or move equipment and assist residents as needed
