Mountain Lake Academy , a vibrant and dynamic year-round boarding school set in the majestic High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains, is searching for passionate individuals to join our team. We offer an extraordinary opportunity to work with boys in grades 7-12, guiding them through a journey of self-discovery and growth in a stunning natural setting. What Makes This Role Special? Craft and lead engaging on and off-campus experiential groups. Your creativity will be the key to organizing activities such as hiking, biking, skiing, and more. Focus on the overall growth of our students by facilitating various activities. These include adventure-based counseling, recreational groups, and volunteer activities. Take the lead in co-guiding multi-day wilderness experiences, offering students unforgettable learning adventures.

Qualifications:

Preferred a minimum of four years’ hands-on experience in a similar setting is a must. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy or a similar field, showcasing your dedication to this field. Certifications or Licensing will include Wilderness First Responder, NY State Guide License, and Adventure-Based Counseling Experience. Background check compliant with the New York State Justice Center and OCFS regulations Valid New York State driver’s license Individuals adept at engaging with students, both in individual and group settings, with confidence and finesse. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external resources.
