JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

This part-time staff position in the Department of Kinesiology will act as a Center for Fitness and Wellness (CFW) Support Assistant. The position reports directly to the CFW supervisor. In HHD (Human and Health Development), enriching the lives of others is our mission. Job Duties:

Overseeing daily functioning of the centerCalibrating/troubleshooting equipmentConducting fitness testing on primarily undergraduate students, as well as lipid and glucose testingTraining and oversight of undergraduate internsDebriefing clientsData quality controlCollecting fees for servicesAppointment schedulingAdministrative functionsRequirements and qualifications:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field preferred.

Experience preferred in the fitness industry performing exercise testing, wellness coaching, or personal training.

Professional certification preferred; ACSM NSCA, ACE, or NASM may be acceptable.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
