This role is responsible for planning and completing park facility reservations, and for organizing a variety of recreational programs and community events for residents. The position is supervised by the Assistant Director of Recreation and works closely with departments, community groups, and volunteers to ensure effective service delivery. Key responsibilities include managing reservation software, maintaining accurate records, assisting residents with inquiries and complaints, and ensuring compliance with Township ordinances. The Coordinator plans and implements year-round recreational programs and special events for all ages, schedules and supports staff and volunteers, tracks participation, and ensures safety and quality standards. The role also involves working with local organizations and providing excellent customer service. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills are essential. Candidates should be comfortable using reservation systems, resolving issues, and working both independently and as part of a team. Primary schedule is Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 4:30 pm with flexibility to work weekends if required. This is an in-person role with no remote or hybrid schedule.
Compensation:
This is a bargaining unit position classified under the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), with an hourly wage range of $31.36 – $32.54. In accordance with the OPEIU contract, new employees will be paid at a rate of $5,000 less annually than the classified wage during the first six months of employment. After six months of employment, the hourly rate will be increased to the base rate.
