Activity Assistant || Part Time – Every Other Weekend 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Dallastown, PA 17313 Schedule – PT || Every Other Weekend 9:30a-6pm Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our nursing home and long-term care facility. The Activity Assistant will engage residents in meaningful activities, promote social interaction, and support their overall well-being. This position requires a strong understanding of aging issues and the ability to work with individuals with varying abilities, including those with memory care needs. Responsibilities Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Facilitate group activities that encourage socialization, creativity, and physical engagement. Work closely with nursing staff and social workers to ensure activities align with residents’ care plans. Provide support to residents during events, ensuring their safety and comfort. Document participation and feedback from residents to help improve future programming. Collaborate with community resources to enhance activity offerings and provide enriching experiences. Assist in the setup and cleanup of events, ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants. Requirements Experience in assisting individuals in a nursing home or long-term care setting is preferred. Knowledge of aging issues counseling and recreational therapy is a plus. Familiarity with memory care practices and working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with an ability to plan engaging events effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff members. A compassionate approach towards individuals facing challenges related to aging or disabilities. Ability to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate scheduled activities.
