The qualified candidate will be highly skilled, and goal driven with strong attention to detail. This position performs high-level, often confidential administrative duties involved in a variety of management services essential to operation of the Metro Parks and Recreation department. Performs related duties as required. Metro’s Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of facilities and programs throughout Davidson County. Currently, the department oversees nearly 16,000 acres of open space, including 184 parks and 107 miles of greenway. Metro Parks offers after school programs for children, activities for seniors (55+), cultural arts classes, dog parks, fitness classes, nature programs, sports leagues, ice hockey, art galleries, and much more. It is the mission of Metro Parks and Recreation to sustainably and equitably provide everyone in Davidson County with an inviting network of parks and greenways that offer health, wellness and quality of life through recreation, conservation and community. This fast-paced, diverse, and multi-faceted environment might be just the place for you! Typical Duties Screen and direct phone calls and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Prepare and process correspondence, minutes, business forms, reports and agendas. Manage a very active and detailed calendar. Make travel arrangements. Schedule, plan and coordinate events. Research data to prepare documents for review or presentation by the Director and/or leadership team. Communicate accurately and professionally with a wide range of internal and external contacts. Attend, participate in, and record meetings. Handle and maintain integrity of privileged and confidential documents. Lead or participate in special projects. Supervise front office personnel, manage coverage schedule and absences, along with: Assigns and reviews work Manages leave requests Evaluates employee performance Counsels with and corrects employee performance as needed Performs other duties as needed. Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) or more years of professional experience as an executive assistant providing high-level administrative support to a director or high-level manager.

  • Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
LICENSE REQUIRED

Valid Driver License Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
