THE ROLE ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Answer inbound resort phone calls promptly and courteously. Enter guest reservations for guestrooms, tee times, dining and spa into the computer system quickly and accurately, segmenting reservations into the appropriate category. Use knowledge of all rates and resort services, to make bookings and upsell resort amenities where appropriate. Qualify calls and assist guests with any needs or requests in the booking process. Assist guests with inquiries, requests, or changes to existing reservations, including modifications to booking dates, room types, or special accommodations, and provide solutions to ensure guest satisfaction and retention. Maintain good relations with all guests and implement procedures for special attention to certain guest categories as needed. Confirm reservations with guests via email or phone, providing confirmation details, reservation policies, and relevant information to ensure guests have all necessary information for their upcoming stays. Maintain a working knowledge of the golf sales and hotel room structure, credit policy, room type variations, and resort services and amenities. Monitor, sell, report closely, and attempt to obtain alternate date reservations for any closed-out dates by creating and utilizing a waitlist. Change and cancel reservations as guests request. When canceling a reservation with a deposit, complete an advance deposit refund requisition. Record rate resistance and any other turn down reasons for analysis by director of sales.

Experience:

Previous data entry and telephone and computer experience is helpful.

Skills and Abilities:

Must possess telephone communications skills with ability to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence potential resort guests. Ability to operate a computer and hotel and golf reservations systems.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Desire to participate as part of a team. Complete knowledge of hotel rooms and meeting related services available. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers exercising patience, tact, and diplomacy. Must possess proficient computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, as well as internet. Comprehension of the reservation sales process. Analytical approach to problem solving. High school diploma or equivalent One year experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
