Job Overview :
As the Front of House Restaurant Manager, you will oversee and manage all aspects of the guest experience, ensuring that the dining room, bar, and service areas run smoothly. You’ll lead a team of servers, hosts, and bartenders, while ensuring the highest level of service, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, an exceptional problem-solver, and have a strong eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee daily operations of the front of house (FOH) team, including servers, bartenders, and hosts, ensuring all guests receive exceptional service. Lead by example, fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment that encourages professionalism and hospitality. Ensure all guests are greeted warmly, seated in a timely manner, and provided with personalized service throughout their dining experience. Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring positive resolutions to maintain customer satisfaction. Manage reservations, guest flow, and seating arrangements to optimize service during peak hours. Monitor service standards, ensuring that all staff adhere to the restaurant’s policies and procedures, including food quality, cleanliness, and guest interactions. Coordinate with the kitchen and back-of-house team to ensure seamless communication and timely delivery of food. Supervise and support FOH staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Ensure the restaurant is clean and well-organized, including overseeing the cleanliness of dining areas, bathrooms, and common spaces. Assist with inventory control, including bar supplies, linens, and front-of-house equipment, and order items as needed. Assist in managing the restaurant’s financials, including labor costs, revenue, and guest check averages. Enforce health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations related to food safety and alcohol service. Stay informed about industry trends, new menu offerings, and special promotions, and actively engage with guests to ensure satisfaction.
Preferred Skills :
Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments. Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including cost control and profit margin analysis. Familiarity with restaurant management software and point-of-sale systems (e.g., OpenTable, Toast, or similar). Food safety certification or management-level training in hospitality.
