A career with an established company. The Food Service Manager is responsible for the oversight of preparation and serving of food during the week for the students on site. They will collaborate with Operational Leadership on strategies for success and implement policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and cleanliness. The Food Services Manager will ensure food service staff adherence to state and agency standards while meeting performance and quality metrics. The Food Service Manager will perform a combination of food preparation and serving duties, as well as keeping records on consumables and stock used. The Food Service Manager is also responsible for ordering Food Service department supplies. You may be responsible for confidential and sensitive material and must be able to familiarize yourself with the industry’s practices, concepts, and procedures. Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401K Participation Veteran-friendly employer. Responsibilities of a Food Service Manager Keep storage areas well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Monitor food distribution, ensuring that meals are delivered to the correct recipients and that guidelines, such as those for special diets, are followed. Monitor food preparation or serving techniques to ensure that proper procedures are followed. Clean kitchen preparation and service spaces. Empty wastebaskets and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas. Replenish supplies, such as bowls, plates, napkins, and condiments. Observe precautions required to protect guest and employee health. Sort, count, and mark food and preparation supplies. Prepare food items, such as sandwiches, salads, soups, or beverages. Requirements of a Food Service Manager Must be able to pass a background check. Must be 21 years of age. Two Years Experience as a Line Cook with Supervisor Experience.

Education:

Must have SafeServ Manager Certification. Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions. Food Production — Knowledge of techniques and equipment for planting, growing, and harvesting food products (both plant and animal) for consumption, including storage/handling techniques. English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Physical Requirements:

Performing General Physical Activities — Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip etc. a variety of foods and liquids. Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 lbs. Standing and walking for entire length of shift. Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at the waist, bending and squatting. Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops, and brooms.

Soft Skills:

Strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required. Critical thinking and problem-solving are required. Ability to Prioritize. Ability to effectively communicate with others in a leadership capacity. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills:

Strongly preferred: familiarity with cooking appliances including but not limited to instant pots, flat top grill, etc. Preferred- Familiarity with organizational platforms including Microsoft Teams, HubSpot, Monday.com
