School Food Service Manager – Paid Training (SUMMER) 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Miami, FL 33134 Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Department of Food and Nutrition is looking for qualified applicants with food service management experience to become school food service managers serving students in the K-12 public education system healthy meals daily. Applicant must be accepted into the Food Service Manager Training Program, successfully complete the training, and meet education requirements to become eligible for a school food service manager position within Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Food Service Manager Training Program applies principles of management, on-the-job training, classroom instruction, assignments, projects and exams. The paid training program runs between 18 – 21 weeks. Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Food Service Managers are required to train food service personnel, supervise food production, and organize the work of the school food service operation by appropriately scheduling hours, duties, and equipment for maximum use. Physical Requirements include, but not limited to: moderate to heavy lifting with assistance (20-50 lbs); lifting and carrying large items; pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and climbing; standing entire time of work day; working with heat producing equipment; using motor driven equipment; handling food; sweeping and mopping; using cleaning agents; capable of movement between serving and production area safely and efficiently; capable of fulfilling the duties listed on position’s job description; and capable of supervising and directing staff in the performance of their jobs. 10-month, Full-time position; Starting salary $27,950 The candidate must have reliable transportation (travel throughout Miami-Dade County is required). Applicant must speak, read and write English fluently. All full-time MDCPS applicants must complete a background check (fee of $71) and drug testing.

Education:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D., required

Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years’ food service management/supervisory experience, required • Proficient in computers (knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word, preferred)
