As the General Manager, you will be responsiblefor driving profitability for one RaceTrac store and leading up to45 employees. You will continually deliver on RaceTrac’s mission ofmaking people’s lives simpler and more enjoyable through a focus onfriendly service, food execution, cleanliness, building talent, anddriving success.

Responsibilities:

Friendly Establish an environment of prompt, efficient, and courteousservice and effectively engage in conflict management. Lead and direct positive and professional relationships withco-workers, direct reports, guests, and vendors. Communicate respectfully and maintain a consistentteam-oriented attitude and store culture. Manage and mitigate any reported guest concerns on designatedshifts with a sense of urgency and involve appropriate regionalteam members as needed. Efficiently complete guest transactions at the cash register orself-checkout stations and suggest products that complementpurchases.

Food Drive excellence in food service by executing designedprocesses, implementing goals to increase sales and margin,ensuring product quality, and using training resources. Ensure all food offers are available; ensure preparation areasand equipment are clean and properly maintained.

Clean Encourage and manage a high standard of store cleanliness. Direct, monitor, and adhere to all RaceTrac, federal, state,and local safety-related regulations, including food safetyregulations. Execute shift duties, maintain overall presentation standards,and represent the RaceTrac brand.

Lead the coaching, training, and assessment of direct reportswhile adhering to operational standards.

Driving Success Strategically direct control of inventory and the distributionof materials, merchandise, and supplies. Review financial statements, sales, analysis reports, and otherperformance data to measure productivity. Actively identify areas of operational improvements based onmarket trends. Develop and maintain a relationship with vendors to ensureefficient and correct deliveries. Ensure communication is passed to every team member in thestore. Use company provided tools to coach, mentor and develop a highperforming store team. Ensure all risk management issues are in compliance withcompany standards. Create or approve Management and Associate schedules to ensureproper staffing levels for expected sale volumes, while taking teammember availability, payroll, and overtime costs intoconsideration. Own staffing in store by providing timely feedback oninterviews to the recruiting team. Engage in the hiring of all store associates; develops managersto understand RaceTrac hiring processes and participate in hiringdecisions. Write, implement, and monitor manager development andperformance plans. Ensure proper procedures are followed in regards to hiring,promotions and separations. Ensure all team members follow policies and company standardsat all times. Ensures that all team members have correct valid licenses asrequired by state or local laws. Have complete understanding of budget and cost trends thatimpact operations; proactively work to drive sales and overallfinancial health of the store.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed. 5+ years of prior food service, retail, or restaurantsupervisory experience; retail management experiencepreferred. Previous experience working in high-volume, guest-focused,transactional environment preferred. Knowledge and skills in analyzing overall financial performanceof the store including profit and loss statements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Proven knowledge of Labor Laws and staffing bestpractices. Can lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly bend, stand, and reachwhile on the job. Must obtain and maintain Manager Food Handlercertification. May be required to obtain and maintain alcohol server permit,based on local or state requirements.
