Assistant Manager Position Available In St. Johns, Florida

Assistant Manager Smokin D BBQ Saint Augustine, FL 32084 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Manager/Pit Master to join our team at Smokin D’s BBQ. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our fast-paced restaurant and our managers as they conduct their duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, be a natural problem-solver, and be comfortable working as part of a team completing a wide variety of tasks. Starting pay is 14$ an hour + tips with the ability for a raise after the probationary period. Shift is Thursday-Monday. Duties Assist managers in daily store operations, such as creating schedules, managing deposits, ensuring product quality, etc. Manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts and timely replenishment of products. Uphold food safety standards throughout the food preparation process Working as a pit master: managing the smoking process from start to finish, ensuring meats are cooked to perfection, cutting meat to fill orders, tracking meat sold, etc.

Food preparation:

cutting meat, dicing vegetables, filling sauces, and more. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the restaurant (this includes washing dishes, wiping counters, etc.) Customer service, including taking and filling orders, taking payment, working a cash register, and using a Point of Sale (POS) system. Provide employee orientation and training development to enhance team performance and customer service skills. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and professional growth. Qualifications Previous management experience preferred but not required Ability to work 8 hours on your feet Ability to lift 25+ pounds Ability to work the hiring shift (Thursday to Monday) Ability to work at both locations (downtown St. Augustine and 206 location) with reliable transportation Ability to greet and engage customers with kindness, patience, and a positive attitude. Proficient in basic math skills for handling transactions and managing inventory Experience in Point of Sale (POS) systems is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for effective inventory management. A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
