Job Summary:

The General Manager (GM) of Bayside Café is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing all daily operations of this vibrant, open-air bayfront dining experience. This individual ensures exceptional guest service, drives team performance, maintains high operational standards, and contributes to the continued growth and success of Bayside Café. The GM will lead by example, foster a team-oriented culture, and ensure that the café delivers consistent excellence in service, quality, cleanliness, and profitability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all front- and back-of-house operations of Bayside Café Hire, train, schedule, and develop team members including servers, bartenders, barbacks, and culinary staff Ensure exceptional guest service and handle guest concerns with professionalism and urgency Maintain a high level of cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the venue Oversee inventory control, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective purchasing Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue, control costs, and achieve financial goals Monitor labor and staffing levels to meet business demands while managing payroll expenses Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food & beverage regulations Coordinate with resort marketing and events teams for promotions, seasonal offerings, and special events Lead by example with a hands-on presence during high-volume periods Maintain POS systems, daily reports, and administrative documentation Represent Bayside Café in resort meetings and contribute to the overall success of

Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a General Manager or Assistant GM role within a high-volume restaurant or resort environment Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor staff Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, P&L management, and labor controls Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings Experience with outdoor or waterfront dining operations is a plus ServSafe and alcohol service certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours) Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including sun, heat, humidity, and occasional rain Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and assist with physical aspects of operations as needed Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive tasks Comfortable in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with guests and staff
