The position is entirely customer-facing:

there is no “back kitchen” or “back room”

• all food prep is done behind the counter.

It is an authentic soda fountain experience! Therefore, enjoyment of interacting with people is a must: people may not remember what you said to them, but they will remember how you made them feel. If you can make them feel welcome, cared for, and do so with warmth and great service, that is the customer experience we want to provide. The assistant manager ALSO needs to have excellent supervisory and managerial skills. You are not just a soda jerk: you are ALSO expected to employ all ServSafe regulations, being sure your team is following them, managing your team for best efficiency, being sure they are on task, and following correct procedures

Now for the standard stuff:

Duties include opening/closing, training, high energy customer interaction, preparing sweet and savory treats, cleaning, and ensuring 100% compliance with health department standards. Consistency in all things is of the highest priority. We want the operation to run efficiently and we want customers to have the same enjoyable experience each and every time. This position is the “quality control” to make that happen.

Requirements:

At least two years of restaurant experience; with a minimum of one year front-of-house, and a minimum of one year in a supervisory capacity.

your resume and your current ServSafe Protection Manager certificate. Optionally, you may include a third document of a brief paragraph that tells us about your interest in this position. Applicants who submit this third document will receive priority consideration. Part time available. Shifts available 7 days per week. You need to be able to work at least one shift per weekend. Very flexible on shift schedule. $18 per hour to start. Bonuses for health department inspection scores of 100. The first opportunity for a raise will be given at 90 days of calendar employment.
