Assistant Manager Kingston Grill Forest Park, GA 30297 Job Summary Kingston Grill Restaurant is seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Manager to help oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and support staff in delivering a warm and vibrant Caribbean dining experience. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about food, hospitality, and team development. Key Responsibilities Assist in managing day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures Supervise and support front-of-house and back-of-house staff Ensure excellent customer service by resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards throughout the restaurant Assist in inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing vendor relationships Train new staff and provide ongoing coaching to maintain performance standards Monitor employee schedules and assist with shift coverage when needed Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations Support marketing and promotional efforts to increase sales and visibility Qualifications Minimum 3 years of restaurant or hospitality management experience preferred Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays Knowledge of Caribbean cuisine and culture is a plus Familiarity with POS systems and basic financial reporting Food Manager ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain) Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage or salary (based on experience) Meal discounts Opportunity for growth within the company Supportive and inclusive team environment
Preferred Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is a plus.
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in the food service industry, with at least 2 year in a supervisory or management role.
Certifications:
Food Handler’s Permit or ServSafe Certification (can be obtained upon hiring if not already held). Alcohol Server Certification (if applicable in your jurisdiction).
Skills:
