Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Buying/Procurement Manager to oversee the sourcing and purchasing of essential food commodities, including flour, eggs, sugar, and related ingredients. This role is a combination of individual contribution and managerial responsibilities, requiring expertise in supply chain management, vendor relations, and cost optimization. As a key part of our procurement team, you will ensure the seamless acquisition of high-quality ingredients while managing supplier partnerships and negotiating favorable contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute procurement strategies for food commodities, ensuring supply continuity and cost efficiency. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts and pricing to meet company objectives. Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and industry developments to anticipate supply chain disruptions. Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, quality assurance, and finance, to align purchasing decisions with business goals. Conduct supplier assessments, ensuring compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and sustainability practices. Manage procurement budgets, track expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost savings. Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with logistics to optimize storage and distribution. Develop, monitor, and analyze inventory levels using predictive tools for the purchasing team. Lead and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 5+ years of experience in food commodity procurement, with a strong understanding of pricing, sourcing, and contract negotiations. At least 2+ years of management experience, with a proven ability to lead and mentor a team. Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and drive strategic sourcing initiatives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret market trends and data. Microsoft Excel Excellent Communication and negotiation skills. Experience in managing procurement budgets and achieving cost-saving targets. Knowledge of food industry regulations and quality assurance standards.
