Job Description

Sous Chef/Assistant Manager Luci’s Pizza Bar 460 Bedford Street, Abington, MA 02351 $45-$55k Salary (based on experience) + Bonus (tied to business profitability) Luci’s Pizza bar is a newly renovated restaurant, bar and brand new kitchen that is attached to a bowling alley in Abington Massachusetts. We have used high end finishes and transformed the space into a flexible meeting space that caters to all age groups and demographics. We are in need of a strategic, resourceful kitchen manager who can make the most out our small developing kitchen! Kitchen Manager Responsibilities:
  • Staff o Recruit, train & certify kitchen staff. o Lead, inspire & motivate staff to achieve our goals & work as a team. o Manage schedule for kitchen staff (in alignment with our event schedule) o Instruct staff on making new dishes.
  • Culinary o Create new recipes, plan the menu and execute its preparation and service.

o Order materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demand. o Oversee, participate and drive the food preparation and cooking process. o Monitor inventory levels and perform weekly inventory assessments. o Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations. o Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized. o Check food and ingredients for freshness. o Properly operate cooking appliances to prepare safe and delicious meals o Arrange and garnish dishes. o Develop specials on a weekly basis. o Write coherent food descriptions. o Ensure kitchen is always prepared for internal or external inspections.

  • Financial o Maintain weekly and monthly cost reports. o Control waste & ordering o Meet with vendors & secure pricing o Control labor costs & spending
  • Teamwork o Work well under pressure & within time limits o Plan events with the bar & bowling alley management team
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Culinary school 2-4 year degree or foreign equivalency preferred.
  • Required Certifications o Serve Safe Food Management o Allergen Awareness Certification o First Aid/CPR/AED o Crowd Management Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Restaurant Management or certification from culinary school or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role is a HUGE Plus.
  • Prior experience in casual dining, food & beverage preparation & service.
  • Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
  • In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to use all food preparation appliances safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work well with departments outside of food service.
  • Ability to work well in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
  • Problem solving & conflict management capabilities
  • Outstanding communication & organizational skills
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:

$45,000.00 – $54,000.00 per year
