Host/Assistant Manager Old Village Inn Ogunquit, ME 03907 Job Summary Welcome to the newly renovated Old Village Inn in Ogunquit, Maine! As we approach our much anticipated re-opening of both our restaurant and inn, we are seeking seeking a friendly and organized restaurant Host/Assistant Manager to join our team! At the OVI, we seek to provide an exceptional guest experiences in a dynamic restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to manage seating arrangements efficiently. This is a full-time, year round position with 4 weeks paid time off in January. Hours from 3:00pm to 10:00pm. Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide them with accurate wait times. Manage the seating chart to optimize table turnover while ensuring guest comfort. Answer phone calls with professionalism, assisting with reservations and inquiries. Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area. Assist guests with any special requests or needs, demonstrating a commitment to guest services. Utilize POS systems for reservations and tracking guest preferences when necessary. Handle any guest complaints or concerns promptly and effectively. Assistant Restaurant Manager to ensure smooth and successful operations. Experience Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or customer service is preferred. Familiarity with restaurant operations and phone etiquette is a plus. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
