Bar Operations Manager Confidential Nutley, NJ 07110 Overview The Beverage Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the beverage operations within our establishment, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and quality products. This position requires a strong background in hospitality and food management, with a focus on creating an inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. The Beverage Manager will lead a team of bartenders and support staff while maintaining high standards of beverage preparation and service. Duties Manage daily operations of the bar, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness. Actively participate in service management on a day to day basis. This includes but not limited to overseeing training for all front of house positions, mentoring and coaching, opening/closing duties. Develop and implement innovative beverage menus that align with current trends and customer preferences. Train, supervise, and mentor bar staff to ensure excellent service and adherence to company standards. Collaborate with culinary staff to create complementary drink pairings for menu items. Monitor customer satisfaction and address any concerns promptly to enhance the dining experience. Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, training needs, and performance expectations. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as responsible alcohol service policies. Assist in hiring processes by interviewing potential candidates for bar positions. Skills Proven experience in bartending, beverage menu creation, negotiating with vendors and managing beverage cost within expected COGs. Existing relationships with beverage vendors to help Strong culinary knowledge to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff on beverage pairings. Passion for food and beverage, service, following or creating trends. Familiarity with POS and reservation systems for efficient order processing and guest management. Excellent food/beverage management skills to oversee inventory and ensure quality control. Strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive team environment and engage with guests effectively. Empathetic leader that leads a team with accountability and fairness, holding everyone to the same standard, but able to have a personal touch with interactions. Clear communicator, able to navigate conversations professionally. Problem solver who brings a “Solutions, Not Problems” mentality to all situations. Forward thinker, planning for all possible outcomes instead of only reacting to issues. Finger on the pulse, brings new ideas to the table to improve sales, promotions, savings and cost controls, staff retention and hiring. Compensation:
Base Salary $70,000-80,000/year based on experience Medical,Dental &Vision with 50/50 Employer Split Quarterly Bonus Opportunity Paid Time Off / Employee Discount /
