Autumn Lake is a vibrant, guest-focused winery known for exceptional wines, warm hospitality, and engaging events. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our tasting room operations, build a strong team culture, and ensure every guest has an unforgettable experience.

Job Summary:

As our General Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of the tasting room—leading staff, optimizing operations, and ensuring every guest leaves with a smile (and a bottle!). This is a hands-on role that blends hospitality, team leadership, wine knowledge, and event planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development Manage, schedule, coach, and train tasting room staff Lead regular staff meetings and ongoing education on wines and service Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented environment Handle hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations with ownership input Organize staff bonding/appreciation activities Tasting Room Operations Maintain smooth daily operations and uphold exceptional service standards Oversee cash register reconciliation and POS management Order supplies, update tasting room menus, and ensure all guest-facing areas are clean, stocked, and welcoming Monitor wine inventory and communicate with owner/winemaker regarding low stock and new releases Relay tasting notes and release details to staff promptly Sales & Guest Engagement Implement sales strategies, weekly specials, and wine club promotions Encourage merchandise sales and boost guest engagement Work with the marketing team to maintain accurate website info and promote new/sold-out wines Events & Programming Book weekly food trucks and live music Collaborate with Event Sales and Marketing Managers to execute winery events and ensure interdepartmental cohesion Plan creative, revenue-generating events (e.g. craft & sips, dinners, festivals) and coordinate with outside vendors Oversee event logistics, staffing, and ticketing; be present on-site when necessary Clearly communicate all event details with staff to drive participation and sales Compliance Ensure adherence to all ABC laws and local regulations

Qualifications:

Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably in wine or food & beverage industry Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative, think critically, and figure things out independently when needed Comfortable handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Availability to work weekends and evenings as needed Wine knowledge comes second to leadership capabilities
