About the position:

The Concession Manager will oversee the daily operations of food and beverage service at our Elmira Corning Regional Airport concession and Chenango Valley State Park concessions ensuring that guests receive high-quality products and excellent customer service. This role involves managing staff, inventory, budgets, and vendor relationships while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Concession Manager also plays a critical role in enhancing the overall guest experience by providing efficient and enjoyable food and beverage service.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Staff Management:

Train, and supervise concessions staff, including cashiers, cooks, and servers. Create staff schedules and manage labor costs to ensure proper coverage for busy periods. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching, feedback, and discipline as needed.

Operations Management:

Oversee day-to-day concession operations ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and organization. Monitor service quality, ensuring products are served at the correct temperature and in a timely manner. Implement and enforce food safety standards, health regulations, and hygiene practices. Maintain inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, storing, and rotating stock as needed. Monitor equipment maintenance and ensure all appliances are in good working condition.

Financial Oversight:

Manage the concessions budget, ensuring profitability and cost control. Track and analyze sales data, report on financial performance, and recommend adjustments for improving profitability. Manage cash handling procedures, including balancing registers and preparing cash deposits.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

Establish and maintain relationships with food and beverage suppliers to ensure a consistent, high-quality product offering. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual terms with vendors and suppliers. Ensure that inventory is stocked and that the venue is always prepared.

Customer Service & Experience:

Ensure that guests receive prompt, friendly, and efficient service. Address and resolve any customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner. Implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction, including product offerings, speed of service, and overall guest experience.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety, and workplace safety. Ensure all staff are properly trained in food handling, customer service, and emergency protocols.

Qualifications:
Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in food and beverage management.. Experience in working in high-volume environments. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, inventory management, and financial oversight.

Skills:

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), Google Workspace and point-of-sale (POS) systems. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications:

Food Handlers Certification, ServSafe Certification or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed based on flight schedules.
