Job Description Our client, an iconic and luxurious event venue, is looking for a Banquet Manager to join the team for the season! A prominent NYC hospitality venue is seeking a Banquet Manager to help lead its high-volume event operations. This role is responsible for ensuring top-tier service and smooth execution across all banquet functions, working closely with service staff, culinary teams, and event stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and committed to creating exceptional guest experiences. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position with immediate openings for interviews.
Pay:
$28-30 DOE
Responsibilities:
Support banquet leadership in overseeing daily operations and staff coordination Supervise banquet team and assist with shift assignments and task delegation Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of banquet staff Conduct and refine training programs to maintain consistent service standards Lead pre-shift meetings to relay event details and service expectations Maintain communication with culinary and support teams throughout events Monitor execution during events to ensure service and food quality meet expectations Ensure banquet spaces and storage areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained Build and maintain respectful relationships with vendors and external partners Assist in developing maintenance schedules for front and back-of-house areas Proactively address guest concerns or issues during events to ensure satisfaction
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in banquet/event management or similar hospitality leadership roles Strong knowledge of luxury service standards and high-volume event execution Computer proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic database systems Fluent in English; additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Italian are a plus Able to write and interpret reports, SOPs, and basic business documents Strong organizational and leadership skills in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a union environment highly preferred; familiarity with Local 6 is a significant plus Background in à la carte service is a strong advantage Demonstrated ability to lead service teams through complex and high-profile events If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
