Job Description

House Manager / Busy NYC Executive New York City (Manhattan) & East Hampton A private family with residences in Manhattan and East Hampton seeks an experienced and highly capable House Manager . This hands-on role offers an excellent opportunity to oversee household operations, staff, and events while ensuring a high standard of service and discretion. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, emotionally intelligent, and thrives in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); train household staff accordingly. Oversee daily operations of multiple residences. Work closely with the Executive Assistant to align on family schedules and needs. Maintain and monitor household budgets and handle payroll. Manage inventory of linens, housewares, groceries, and supplies for both homes. Organize and oversee deep cleaning, seasonal maintenance, and regular inspections. Supervise organization of closets, storage areas, and household spaces. Serve as the primary point of contact for household repairs, maintenance, and renovations.

Staff Management:

Oversee, train, and manage housekeepers, nannies, gardeners, and other staff. Responsible for staff hiring, training, scheduling, and terminations as needed. Conduct performance evaluations and quality assurance inspections. Provide product and cleaning protocol training to ensure high standards.

Guest Relations:

Serve as the main contact for guests; ensure all arrangements are professionally handled before, during, and after their stay. Prepare accommodation to luxury standards. Greeting and host guests in a warm, courteous, and professional manner. Set and serve formal and informal meals when needed.

Event Management:

Plan and execute in-residence events, from small family gatherings to formal parties. Coordinate lighting, music, and ambiance to suit the occasion. Oversee catering, floral arrangements, table settings, and décor. Manage RSVPs and guest lists. Support during events, including hosting and serving.

Meal & Pantry Management:

Ensure the availability of fresh, healthy food at all times. Work with chefs and caterers to develop family and event menus. Shop for and stock pantry and kitchen items; maintain food inventory. Prepare basic meals and snacks for the family and guests. Source from reputable food vendors and manage related accounts.

Driving:

Must possess a valid driver’s license. Drive family members to and from NYC and East Hampton as needed. Transport family to various activities and appointments.

Schedule & Availability:

Flexibility is essential. Candidate must be adaptable to family needs and seasonal schedules.

Winter:

Friday AM through Monday AM in NYC Live-in availability in East Hampton if the family is away from

NYC Summer:

Thursday through Monday Willingness to adjust days off when guests or events require extended support Salary range: $120k-150k (DOE) + benefits
