This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring exceptional food quality and service, and representing the Fuku brand with energy and professionalism. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, has a strong background in food & beverage operations, and excels at team leadership and guest satisfaction. This is a key leadership position supporting Fuku’s mission of delivering craveable, high-quality fried chicken and hospitality to thousands of fans throughout the tournament.
Please note:
This role will be hired through our talent partner, GigSmart . While you’ll be working directly with the Fuku team during the US Open, you will be a GigSmart employee . This is a temporary position with work anticipated from Aug 14, 2025 to Sep 8, 2025.
Work Location:
This position is on-site and based in Flushing, NY during the US Open .
Compensation:
This temporary role will be paid $28-$30 per hour, depending on experience. All compensation will be managed through our talent partner, GigSmart.
Responsibilities:
Fill out prep lists and order guides for the following day Manage the clock-in sheet for all employees and provide that sheet to the corporate team daily Receive and process food and dry goods deliveries Assist and supervise cleaning, setup, and breakdown of stations Manage the flow of service, assign team members to stations, and communicate with Gigsmart for team member absences Provide training to BOH/FOH team members, distribute uniforms, and explain the menu and flow of service Conduct pre-shift inventory counts as well as closing inventory counts and report findings to the appropriate personnel Uphold the highest quality of food preparation at all times Serve as a brand ambassador for Fuku during all shifts Assist with food preparation, assembly, and cooking as needed Communicate effectively with other stand leads and the corporate team Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong leadership and team management skills in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Familiarity with inventory and ordering systems Ability to train and motivate front-of-house and back-of-house staff Experience in concession operations or quick-service restaurants preferred Flexibility to perform both supervisory and hands-on duties as needed Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to represent the Fuku brand with professionalism and enthusiasm
