ROOM MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Focuses on excellent customer service, customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
Lead the dining room operations with a standard of a fine dining experience; ensure that employees demonstrate an exceptional level of hospitality and service towards residents and guests.
Responsible for ensuring the dining room is ready for each meal service and motivating staff to be attentive and friendly throughout their shift. Ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures to both customers as well as team members in a manner that is easily understood. Works under minimal supervision, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. Major Responsibilities, Duties, Functions, and Tasks of the Position Serves as a working lead manager coordinating activities of the wait staff providing the highest quality of service to customers at all times Greets residents/customers and leads them to their table, seating and presenting menus to residents/customersin appropriate timing intervals for the best possible service. Overall responsibility for consistent meal service in the Independent Living. Superviseday-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards; provide positive and constructive feedback to employees to reward, coach, correct, and motivate. Leads training programs specific to the dining room service i.e.: Orientation, food and physical safety. Actively recognizes the team for the value they bring Monitors the overall cleanliness of the dining room and wait staff kitchen areas Prepares a lunch and evening menu daily. Conducts interview and hiring process for wait staff Completes work schedules for wait staff Team Members Oversees and implements special functions and catered events, organization of function sheets, function book, posting board and communicating to necessary staff Participates with development of special menus for the IL dining room, monthly and quarterly specials,attends food committee meetings Performs day to day assignments in addition to lead duties Assists with taking orders and serving tables when necessary Immediately report resident related care concerns about treatment or abuse to the Department Supervisor as well as the Executive Director of the facility Interact with Team Members, Residents, and Guests in a courteous and professional manner Be accountable for all information in the Team Member Handbook Maintain confidentiality of resident, Team Member, family and facility information Follow oral and written instructions for all duties assigned and performed in an effective, timely and professional manner Complete assigned tasks in accordance with organization, facility, and department procedures Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory, and resources to perform their assigned duties and meet service goals and deadlines, as well as ensure the dining room is clean, neatly organized, and fully stocked with all essential items and replenishments of product at all times. Establish a safe work environment for employees by providing safety-related training and equipment maintenance and ensuring compliance with SRL safety programs, standards, and procedures. Responsible for all catered events throughout the facility. Organization of function sheets, including function book, posting board, and monthly specials. Plan special theme meals for the main Dining room, including dessert buffets, social hour, etc. Facilitating the set-up, staffing, and breakdown of all special affairs and catering events Use supplies in an efficient and cost effective manner Ensure equipment is treated with proper care and is used only for the purposes and in accordance for which it was designed to be used for Maintain cleanliness of work area Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, as directed Complete all documentation per facility protocol and Standards of Practice Follow all IT protocols, including submission of Sysaids, for all technology related issues Answer call bells and assist as able Conduct Expected of a Team Member in the
