  • Aiken, SC Summary Responsible for preparing meals for residents and maintaining the efficient operation and upkeep of the kitchen area at the Croft House.
I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the kitchen in compliance with the Department of Health & Environmental Control (DHEC). Keep accurate reports & records for United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Responsible for the inventory and ordering of all necessary supplies and equipment for the kitchen. Responsible for preparing the grocery order. Responsible for insuring the temperature logs on food, dishwasher, dish sinks, refrigerators, walk-in cooler and freezer are correct and documented daily. Responsible for Facility Cleaning Chart to be done daily/weekly/monthly. Thorough knowledge of management company policies and procedures and property community policies. Responsible for seeking educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth and development. Other duties may be assigned that may be required as deemed necessary by NHE, Inc.

II. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises the kitchen staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with NHE, Inc. policies and applicable laws.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

IV. EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

V. LANGUAGE/MATHEMATICAL/REASONING ABILITY/OTHER SKILLS & ABILITITES

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, residents/clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
