Assistant General Manager (AGM) Caviar & Bananas Gourmet Market & Cafe Charleston, SC Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant General Manager (AGM) to oversee the daily operations of our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in restaurant management and hospitality, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing staff, budgets, and overall guest experiences while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities. Develop and implement effective strategies for budgeting, cost control, and financial performance. Oversee kitchen management, ensuring food quality, presentation, and safety standards are met. Manage bar operations, including inventory control and staff training on beverage service. Foster a positive work environment through effective shift management and team development. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Handle cash management procedures accurately to ensure financial integrity. Collaborate with staff to create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. Conduct regular training sessions to improve staff performance in hospitality management practices. Requirements Proven experience in restaurant management or similar role within the hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash handling, and financial reporting. Experience in kitchen management with an understanding of food safety regulations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to lead by example. Effective communication skills for interacting with both staff and customers.
