Join the legendary Historic Mel’s Drive-In as our next Chef/Kitchen Manager at our Nashville, TN location! since 1947 We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on leader who can manage a bustling kitchen while delivering high-quality, consistent food to our guests from breakfast through late night. About Us Mel’s Drive-In is an iconic American diner known for its nostalgic vibe, hearty meals, and welcoming atmosphere. Our Tennessee location combines classic diner charm with the vibrant spirit of Nashville—open 7am to 4am daily to serve locals, tourists, and late-night crowds alike. Job Responsibilities

  • Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service from breakfast to late night
  • Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to uphold food quality, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls to maintain food and labor budgets
  • Oversee prep, cooking, plating, and presentation for a high-volume kitchen
  • Collaborate with ownership/management on menu specials, quality improvements, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
  • Be hands-on in the kitchen, setting the pace and example for the team Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Chef, Kitchen Manager, or similar leadership role in a high-volume restaurant
  • Strong cooking and culinary skills, preferably with diner-style, American comfort food
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and kitchen scheduling
  • ServSafe certification
