Dock 17 is searching for a motivated and energetic Assistant Manager to join our crew as a Front of House (FOH) Shift Manager ! What You’ll Do:
As a Shift Manager, you’ll be a key leader in ensuring smooth operations when the Front of House Manager or other leadership is unavailable.
Your responsibilities will include:
Demonstrating proficiency in Front of House restaurant leadership. Assigning duties to team members based on their strengths and operational needs. Providing hands-on leadership and guidance to ensure efficient shift operations. Training Front of House team members (Servers, Bussers, Runners, and Hosts) on processes, customer service, and best practices. Addressing guest inquiries and resolving any concerns with professionalism and positivity. Upholding company policies and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Managing cash handling procedures, including balancing cash drawers and preparing deposits. Cultivating an inviting and enjoyable guest experience that aligns with Dock 17’s commitment to excellence.

Ideal candidates will possess:
Minimum of 2 years of restaurant experience with demonstrated progression into a leadership role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership abilities include decision-making, goal-setting, and motivating a team. Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to address challenges effectively. Excellent organizational and time management capabilities. Customer service expertise and a dedication to creating positive guest interactions. Comfort with technology, including register systems and scheduling software. Experience in food service or hospitality is a plus.
Your Schedule:
Flexible availability required, including afternoons, evenings, nights, and weekends. Open availability to work weekends and holidays is required, with the exception of Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Essential Job Functions –
Physical Requirements:

Standing/Walking:
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift), including walking between the front and back of house, dining area, and storage locations.
Lifting/Carrying:
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 40 pounds (such as boxes, supplies, or small equipment).
Bending/Kneeling/Reaching:
Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, and crouching to access supplies, clean surfaces, and assist team members as needed.
Manual Dexterity:
Must possess sufficient hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to operate POS systems, count cash, handle small tools, and perform food service tasks quickly and accurately.
Speaking/Hearing:
Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and team members, including the ability to hear in a noisy environment and respond promptly to questions or emergencies.
Vision:
Must have adequate vision (with or without corrective lenses) to safely navigate the restaurant, read tickets and POS screens, and inspect cleanliness and presentation standards.
Multi-tasking:
