Exempt We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee our operations in Gatlinburg, TN. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the store, including sales, customer service, inventory management, and staff supervision. Goo Goo Chocolate Co is not your average retail store, it is a tourist attraction, a legacy that has stood the test of time for over 100 years. The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and personnel of Goo Goo Chocolate Co. while successfully driving unit sales through a high velocity of production and outstanding customer service. Our General Manager leads employees by providing support through effective training and facilitates their development through coaching and accountability. It is a condition of your employment that you are flexible regarding days and hours worked. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Maintain brand positive partnerships with vendors, peers, as well as internal and external customers. Monitor and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Partner with executive team on new promotional ideas, developing and implementing strategies to increase sales. Manage budgets and expenses to ensure profitability. Collaborates with executive team to set SMART goals that are based on established KPIs Sets culture standards that are in line with Goo Goo Cluster’s vision and brand. Assist with new-hire training and cross-training efforts of existing team members according to company training program and guidelines. Supervise and train staff to ensure they are providing exceptional service and meeting sales targets. Recognize performance issues and communicate details to HR in a timely fashion. Set a strong example of professionalism and leadership. Consistently build employee knowledge base by continuous engagement, training program execution, follow up and effective delegation of tasks. Ensure payroll processes, scheduling, and timecards are completed by designated timelines, adhering to payroll budget and proactively notifying HR if payroll budget is not in line with monthly plan. Maintain and ensure employee permits and certifications are compliant with state and federal guidelines. Ensure compliance with company policies and SOPs. Maintain a high level of integrity, e.g. adhering to loss prevention practices and policies, accurate employee time keeping, and maintaining employee confidentiality as it pertains to Goo Goo Cluster’s policies. Provide excellent customer service at all times, resolve customer issues and respond to inquiries. Maintain a neat, clean and organized work location. Manage inventory levels and ensure stock is replenished as needed. Report and oversee all facility maintenance issues in a timely manner. Ensure all OSHA, safety and sanitation compliance documents are current and in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Store Manager or General Manager. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or 2 years management experience in a high-volume retail, or food and beverage and hospitality environment. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Basic knowledge of kitchen production. Must have or obtain Food Handlers permit within 30 days of employment. Core Values and Competencies C’mon It’s Candy!
