Full Job Description Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced retail or hospitality professional, or motivated candidate of high potential, to oversee all day-to-day operations of a Nashville area “destination farm” as its General Manager. This individual will be responsible for managing a single site, ensuring that it runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with our company standards and will receive economic incentive tied to the performance of the property. The General Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the farm’s physical and economic condition, providing an exceptional experience for guests, and fostering a positive and productive work environment for all employees. Destination Farm:

Our destination farm offers a unique blend of farm-based outdoor recreation and retail that provides families and guests of all types with memorable experiences throughout the year as seasons change. The farm offers a variety of rural activities and attractions such u-pick produce, a kids corn box, and petting zoo experience. Visitors can enjoy farm-related retail, including related apparel, home goods, and packaged foods, along with delicious food and beverages like donuts, beer, cider, and chicken sandwiches. The farm is a wholesome pillar of family fun in the community, and we hold ourselves to the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience:

Provide exemplary service to farm guests, ensuring a high-quality experience that reflects our brand’s values. Coordinate with team members to ensure the farm is open and ready to offer full-day programming.

Operational Management:

Oversee all aspects of farm performance, including staff management, vendor relationships, property maintenance, financial performance, guest experience, and safety. Develop and implement operational playbooks related to farm management, employee training, agritainment amenities, and farming activities. Ensure the farm operates according to budgeted plans for revenue, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and overall financial performance.

Team Leadership & Hiring:

Lead and develop a team, handling HR-related tasks such as approving timesheets, PTO, and sick days. Lead efforts to identify and hire team members to staff the farm and offer guests a wonderful hospitality experience Mentor and build the skills of team members, preparing them to lead both in technical knowledge and leadership.

Maintenance and Safety:

Implement and oversee Farm Maintenance Programs. Ensure that all property personnel operate within standards and company safety policies. Conduct regular inspections and verify the condition of the site and its equipment.

Communication:

Communicate farm maintenance, capital, staffing, and experience needs to leadership promptly. Maintain effective communication with leadership and team members via phone, email, and other methods.

Vendor and Regulatory Compliance:

Establish new vendor relationships and maintain regular communications with existing vendors. Ensure the farm complies with local ordinances, state, and federal laws.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience or aptitude in agritourism, agriculture, hospitality, retail, food and beverage, or theme parks 3-5 years of experience leading a team in retail, hospitality, or food & beverage Experience with P&L responsibility. Working knowledge of construction trades and equipment maintenance. Exceptional communication, customer service, and people skills. Outgoing, friendly personality with a customer-focused attitude. Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and report to leadership effectively. Experience with budgeting and financial performance management. Ability to use technology and business applications for various tasks.

Physical, Equipment & Attendance Requirements:

Ability to move throughout the farm, climb hills, stairs, and operate light tools and machinery. Lift and carry up to 45 pounds; occasionally up to 80 pounds with assistance. Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Possess a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation. Comfortable with physical activity and able to move heavy materials and equipment.

Other Expectations:

Employment will be the sole and only full-time work of the Employee. The Employee will prioritize the company’s economic interests and disclose any conflicts of interest. Standard confidentiality, non-disparagement, and intellectual property provisions will be included in any employment contract.
