Shift Leader De-railed Diner Foley, AL 36536 The Shift Lead at De-Railed Diner supports the management team by overseeing operations during assigned shifts. This role includes supervising staff, ensuring excellent guest service, maintaining food quality and cleanliness standards, and stepping in where needed to keep the diner running smoothly. The Shift Lead is a hands-on leader who sets the tone for a productive, friendly, and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Open and/or close the diner according to company procedures. Supervise front and back-of-house staff during assigned shifts. Ensure guest satisfaction by responding to complaints or special requests promptly. Monitor food preparation, service quality, and cleanliness standards throughout the shift. Delegate tasks to team members and ensure duties are completed correctly and on time. Assist with training new employees and reinforcing operational procedures. Maintain accurate shift documentation (e.g., cash handling, timekeeping, and incident reports). Support team in various roles (e.g., cooking, serving, hosting) when needed to meet demands. Communicate shift issues or needs to management for follow-up.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. 1+ year of experience in a restaurant or diner environment, with some leadership experience preferred. Strong communication and team leadership skills. Basic math and cash handling ability. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
