CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE

Child Nutrition Program Manager

SUPERVISES

All Child Nutrition Program Workers

JOB GOAL

To provide each student and faculty member with food of high nutritious quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and personal caring.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Possess High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Three years verified successful experience in the preparation and serving of food 3. Demonstrates aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities. 4. Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. 5. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

School Principal/Child Nutrition Program Coordinator/Supervisor SALARY:

To be determined commensurate with local salary matrix, credentials, and experience.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, assigns, directs, and supervises the work of all local CNP workers. Plans and directs the preparation and serving of all food in the cafeteria. Insures that all menus that are established are followed without deviation. Assures that the kitchen, storage, serving, and dining areas are properly cleaned at all times. Inspects and subsequently insures that all cooking and serving utensils continuously meet local, state, and federal guidelines regarding cleanliness and sanitation. Assumes primary responsibility for checking and maintaining all food service equipment in safe working condition. As conditions arise, notifies appropriate personnel when repairs and/or replacements equipment is needed. Establishes and maintains records on all food services supplies, food and equipment receiving, used and/or consumed. Maintains proper security of all food service supplies and/or equipment. Instructs all new and/or substitute food service employees in performing their assigned tasks. Maintains accurate time and grade records of all food service employees. Establishes all food service work schedules. Arranges for substitute workers on an as needed basis. Evaluates the performance of all food service workers in accordance with existing Board policy. Assumes primary responsibility for the security of all food service revenue daily receipts until it has been turned over to proper authorities. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Working knowledge of quantity food preparation, sanitation principles, menu planning, inventory control, record keeping and production schedules. Previous experience in food service management. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
