TheFood Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Team Leader is responsiblefor managing and supervising the FSQA team in the metro foodproduction facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the daily operationsof the FSQA team, including assigning tasks, providing guidance andtraining, ensuring all FSQA standards are met and safety protocolsare followed.
  • Establish a culture that prioritizes food safetyand quality at the facility.
  • Design, implement, and managequality assurance programs and procedures to ensure product qualityand consistency.
  • Develop and enforce quality standards andspecifications for raw materials, in-process materials, andfinished products.
  • Oversee environmental monitoring program andother swabbing programs as required to conform to GoodManufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical ControlPoints (HACCP), and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)guidelines.
  • Monitor all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures(SSOPs) and update them frequently as dictated by business needs orthe USDA, including cross training Team Members on SSOPs.
  • Act asthe primary liaison for all internal and external food safety andquality issues (customer complaints, USDA, Food & Drug Association(FDA).
  • Uphold all Whole Foods Market, USDA, and FDA programstandards and work closely with USDA inspector.
  • Oversee PestControl Program and work with third party provider to remedypest-related issues.
  • Follow, comply with, and enforce establishedprocedures, including health and sanitation guidelines andadherence to safe work practices.
  • Maintain accurate andup-to-date documentation and records of all quality assurance andfood safety activities with daily audits to verify compliance.
  • Handle food safety crises, including product recalls, contaminationincidents, and other emergencies.
  • Interview, select, train,develop, counsel, and manage performance for Team Members in a waythat builds and sustains a high-performing and engaged team.
  • Collaborate with Team Member Services on Team Member relationsincluding proper documentation, investigations, corrective actions,and resolve team concerns and/or issues.
  • In collaboration withsubject matter experts, maintain comprehensive knowledge of, andensure compliance with, relevant regulatory rules and standards,including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA),USDA, State Department of Agriculture, HACCP, FSMA, Americans withDisabilities Act (ADA), Department of Labor, Health and Sanitationregulations, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Weights andMeasures.
  • Build a positive work environment of outstandingteamwork and mutual respect.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in foodscience, microbiology, animal sciences, or a related fieldpreferred OR equivalent combination of education and FSQAexperience within a food manufacturing facility.
  • 2 years of FSQAfacility experience within a food production environment and 12months of supervisory FSQA experience in the food manufacturingindustry.
  • PCQI and HACCP certified preferred.
  • Proven trackrecord of success in an FSQA leadership role in the foodmanufacturing industry.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and managefood safety and quality assurance programs.
  • Experience inconducting internal and external audits and inspections to ensurecompliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Proficiency inanalyzing data from quality tests, audits, and inspections toidentify trends, non-conformities, and areas for improvement.
  • Intermediate computer skills; proficiency in select MicrosoftOffice applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); and ability to learncustom applications.
  • Basic understanding of Enterprise ResourcePlanning (ERP) processes within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable ofworking independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work aflexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, includingnights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Ability to buildstrong partnerships with key stakeholders including Team Members,customers suppliers, and regulators.

Working Conditions:
  • Must be ableto lift 50 pounds.
  • Must adhere to company dress code, standardsof production kitchen dress, and personal protective equipment(PPE).
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of thejob, with reasonable accommodation.
  • Hand use: single grasping,fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
  • Work requires thefollowing motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure totemperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in wet anddry conditions.
  • May require the use of ladders.
