Osceola House is a FARR Accredited and Level II transitional living community that allows individuals to step-down from residential care to a community of semi-independent living. Osceola House offers both men and women the chance to practice clinical skills gained with a focus on meaningful life activities including employment, education, or volunteerism. In this way, individuals learn to navigate real-world experiences in a safe, supportive, and structured environment Our caring and credentialed CRRA Staff at Osceola House provides 24/7 on- site supervision. Additionally, Life skills, clinical, medical, and psychiatric services are available during business hours and remain on-call 24/7. Services include independence coaching, mentoring, and life skills management. We provide transportation to recovery and mental health support meetings, general errands, and appointments. We also allow residents to use bikes, community transportation, and personal vehicles after acclimating to the program and with approval from the individual’s clinical team. Relationships and Contacts Within the organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships with the facility Executive Director, National Director of Admissions, Nursing team, Milieu Supervisor, facility leadership, peers, and vendors. Outside the organization : May initiate and maintain working relationships with clinical providers, referral partners, clients and vendors as needed and directed. Position Summary The Shift Supervisor is to supervise assigned residential staff, assist staff complete necessary paperwork, and facilitate good communication and leadership skills for use in client to staff interactions. Position will maintain guidelines for clients and staff, ensure that all apartment rounds are done, and that clients are adequately supervised at all time. Position will ensure clients attend all necessary groups, activities, and appointments. Position will coordinate client transportation, apartment maintenance, food shopping, and general client daily needs. Position will maintain optimum communication with Residential Supervisor and remain available for residential on call rotations. Essential Responsibilities Demonstrates proper time management, supervisory, and communication skills with staff and clients. Addresses and understands clients with mental health and/or substance abuse difficulties. Supports the clinical staff in administering the level system for the clients. Supervises residential staff in implementing program rules in a manner that is respectful of the client and their individual needs. Manages staff schedules, daily operations, and client safety protocols. Develops a professional rapport with clients through interactions that are firm, fair, and consistent. De-escalates clients and remains solution-focused during crises. Ensures that all paperwork and client reporting is appropriately completed by residential staff, including incident reports and shift reports. Facilitates client groups as needed, including House Group, Morning Reflection, New Patient Orientation. Assists with client admissions and discharges, as needed. Maintains appropriate contact with Residential Supervisor and Clinical staff concerning client behaviors. Additional Responsibilities Takes accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks. Conveys information and ideas in a clear, meaningful, and timely manner. Completes assignments or tasks and maintains client safety in a busy environment. Effectively utilizes company computer programs. Performs other related duties, as required and assigned. Strong problem solving and analytical skills Demonstrates a high level of follow through Excellent verbal and written communication Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion ISJP123 Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience in a mental health and/or substance abuse treatment setting. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public, clients and/or vendors. Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building as well as sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell.
