We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Host to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced, high volume restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional hospitality skills and a passion for providing outstanding guest experiences. As the Lead Host, you will be responsible for managing the front-of-house operations, ensuring that guests receive a warm welcome and efficient service from the moment they arrive. Our Lead Host also carries the title and responsibility of Restaurant Guest Ambassador. This position is designed to maintain communication between SoHo Sushi and our valued customers prior to and after their dining experience while forging new relationships with potential customers including commercial accounts and private events. Duties Greet and seat guests promptly with a friendly demeanor, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued. Manage reservations and walk-in traffic efficiently, utilizing the Aloha POS system to track seating availability. Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely guest experiences. Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism, providing solutions to enhance guest satisfaction. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere for guests. Train and mentor new host staff on best practices in customer service, phone etiquette, and hospitality standards. Assist in managing waitlists during peak hours, communicating estimated wait times effectively to guests. Foster positive guest relations by engaging with patrons and encouraging feedback on their dining experience. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or hospitality roles is preferred, particularly in a restaurant or hotel setting. Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on guest relations and satisfaction. Proficient in using point-of-sale and reservation systems is a plus. Excellent phone etiquette for handling reservations and guest inquiries. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with guests and team members. A positive attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional service at all times.
