Kitchen Supervisor The Celeste Hotel 4105 North Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL 32826 Come join the most exciting culinary team in East Orlando as Kitchen Supervisor at The Aurora Restaurant conveniently located inside the 4 Diamond Celeste Hotel. This role is ideal for a line cook with solid kitchen skills looking to advance their career and take a step forward into the culinary leadership. You will need to be comfortable learning and working all the various stations and areas of the kitchen, expo and banquets. With focus on supporting, training and developing the line cooks while upholding and elevating our quality and standards. This position allows for menu design and developmental collaboration opportunities, assisting in training of new employees, assisting with monthly inventory, special events creation and execution, opportunities such as offsite food festivals, bite30, magical dining and more! We are a diverse team with varying backgrounds and experience levels who strive daily to put out quality, interesting, visually appealing food and experiences that exceed our guests’ expectations. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, eager to learn themselves while helping others learn and offer ideas and support in our effort of continuous improvement.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook. Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures. Oversee the cooking process from start to finish and determine how much time each step requires. Prepare stations by setting up and stocking cooking area with all the essential items and getting all components ready for service time. Know all the steps for their station in order to time their food preparation steps correctly. Cost effective preparation of quality food in safe and efficient compliance with proper food preparation and handling, policies and procedures, brand standards, and federal, state and local regulations. Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks. Attention to detail and utilizing active listening skills to follow the process of the Executive Chef. Always keep their station clean, tidy, and well-stocked to ensure food safety and high-quality dishes. Impresses guests with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner. Knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services to assist guests where applicable. Familiar with industry’s best practices.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Ensures all communication containing Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations. Complies with all guest service basics such as uniforms, name tags and proper guest greeting. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Follow all company policies and procedures. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. Ensure a professional appearance, a clean uniform, and adherence to other company appearance standards. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
