Position Summary:
The Stewarding Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the stewarding team, ensuring cleanliness,anization, andpliance with safety and sanitation standards in all kitchen and food preparation areas. This role supports the resort’s culinary team by maintaining an efficient workflow, managing inventory, and supervising the stewarding staff to ensure smooth operations across the resort.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead the stewarding team to ensure cleanliness and efficiency in all back-of-house areas, including kitchens, dishwashing stations, and storage areas.
Monitor and ensurepliance with sanitation and safety standards as outlined by local health regulations.
Assign and manage daily tasks for the stewarding staff, including dishwashing, trash removal, and equipment maintenance.
Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment, dishwashing machines, and sanitation supplies to ensure proper functionality and cleanliness.
Assist in hiring, training, and mentoring stewarding staff to promote teamwork and productivity.
Coordinate with culinary and banquet teams to ensure timely setup and breakdown of events.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, andmunicate replenishment needs to management.
Ensure proper storage and handling of all dishware, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
Address any operational issues promptly and escalate as necessary to the appropriate manager.
Maintain clear and professionalmunication with other departments to ensure seamless operations across the resort.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a stewarding or kitchen management role, preferably in a resort or hotel setting.
Strong kledge of sanitation and safety standards.
Excellent leadership andanizational skills with the ability to multitask.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Effectivemunication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in basicputer programs, including email and inventory management systems, is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including during shifts exceeding 8 hours.
Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to clean or retrieve items.
Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
Comfortable working in hot, humid, or wet environments such as kitchens and dishwashing areas.
Ability to push and pull heavy equipment, such as dish carts and trash bins.
Frequent use of hands and arms for cleaning, scrubbing, and equipment handling.
Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and follow proper safety procedures for handling them.
Work Schedule:
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs. EOE M/D/F/V
