Full Job Description Duties/Responsibilities:

Assures patients current diet orders are accurate in nutritional software program. Performs certain quality assurance tasks such as checking food line for temperature, texture, taste, and accuracy of preparation. Answers telephone, taking messages and relaying information as needed. Enters nourishment information into computer and prints snack and tube feeding labels. Monitors accuracy of food production according to menu, production sheets, and patient needs. Takes food temperatures of patient food as needed. Monitors portion control of patient plates. Prepares and delivers late trays to units. Completes dietetic information for use by kitchen personnel in preparation of food. Prints tally guides for kitchen staff. Processes new diets and changes as required. Performs clerical counts, tallies, and census. Supervises FNS staff ensuring that all assigned duties are completed and that all food items are prepared and ready for the start of each tray line. Counsels and disciplines employee with problem behavior submitting written documentation to Director. Ensures that hospital and departmental policies and procedures are followed. Performs other duties as assigned.
